Specific Football Run With The ball

Coaches – do you want to improve your teams’s aerobic fitness?

Most football coaching drills are very boring and don’t actually improve your fitness.

Coachingxtra has developed a new football training drill that is fun, challenging and improves a player’s aerobic fitness.

This aerobic fitness drill uses specific movements that a player will find in a game situation. This means your players can improve their fitness while having fun and developing their technical skills.

Equipment needed

  • 8 small cones (2 different colours x4 each)
  • 8 poles
  • 3 hurdles
  • 7 large cones
  • A football for each player

Description

  1. Dribble around the blue cones
  2. Pass the ball forward & then quick feet over the hurdles
  3. Play 2 passes with the coch. outside of the pole & in between the poles, before receiving the ball on the outside of the end pole.
  4. Dribble the ball around the 2 poles.
  5. Pass the ball forward & execute a footwork pattern through the ladders before dribbling around the yellow pole.
  6. Dribble in & out of the cones (left only through the red cones / right foot only through the blue cones Players go from one station to the next.
