Possession Run

Set-Up

  • Organise 2 squares with large cones placed on each corner
  • 2 teams in each square + a free player (4 players per team in the image below)

Description

The two teams in each square play a game of possession, with the free player.

When the coach blows his/her whistle, each team will run around a cone (decide before starting which team runs round which cone) and complete 1 lap of both squares.

Duration

  • Possession game: 1 minute 45 seconds (players sprint when time has finished) = 1 repetition
  • 3 repetitions (2 minute rest between repetitions) = 1 set
  • x3 sets (5 minute rest between each set)

  • Anaerobic (lactic) capacity
